OTS' interest in the MK32 torpedo launch system evolved as an
outgrowth of the work with the MK46 torpedo and as a result of
being both a supplier and customer of Plessey Naval Systems, Carlsbad,
California (the predecessor to today's GEC Marconi Naval Systems…the
OEM to this product line).
While maintaining its traditional strength in the lightweight
torpedo market, OTS has been increasing its capabilities in the
MK32 torpedo launch system by making significant enhancements
and acquisitions to its drawing and data library. With the exception
of the new domestic OEM and the U.S. Navy, OTS maintains what
it believes to be the largest commercial facility housing drawing
and prior production data, relevant to this system, in the United
States.
