Ordnance Technology Service is a company whose mission is to provide component part support for torpedoes, torpedo launch systems, and torpedo handling equipment. OTS is certified for the handling of Military Critical Technical Data and is registered with the Department of State (ITAR).

OTS originated in 1986 when our principal employee retired after 23 years at TRW concluding his tenure as one of the Program Managers on the MK46 torpedo. TRW was the Fuel Tank and Afterbody Original Equipment Manufacturer. His product knowledge and the fact that both the lightweight (MK46) and heavyweight (MK48 and ADCAP) torpedoes are assembled in Cleveland (whereby allowing OTS close proximity to the actual manufacturers of the components) proved to be a successful combination in supplying our foreign and domestic customers over the past ten years. In particular, by OTS specializing in the MK46, MK48 and ADCAP torpedoes, their customers benefit through:

• Cost Effective Production: Minimal overhead and utilization of original equipment manufacturing sources allows OTS to provide economical parts procurement.

• Delivery: Knowledge of Original Equipment Manufacturing sources and development of an on-going spare part production network affords OTS expedited service with most deliveries averaging between 3 and 7 months, depending on part complexity.

• Excellent Quality: Unless explicitly stated, all component parts are new and are procured, manufactured and tested to current drawings and specifications.

OTS' interest in the MK32 torpedo launch system evolved as an outgrowth of the work with the MK46 torpedo and as a result of being both a supplier and customer of Plessey Naval Systems, Carlsbad, California (the predecessor to today's GEC Marconi Naval Systems…the OEM to this product line).

While maintaining its traditional strength in the lightweight torpedo market, OTS has been increasing its capabilities in the MK32 torpedo launch system by making significant enhancements and acquisitions to its drawing and data library. With the exception of the new domestic OEM and the U.S. Navy, OTS maintains what it believes to be the largest commercial facility housing drawing and prior production data, relevant to this system, in the United States.

Ordnance Technology Service has recently increased its ability to serve your torpedo handling needs by increasing its source and drawing library of shipboard torpedo handling equipment. In the past, it has often been difficult to locate spare parts for this equipment as responsibility of shipboard torpedo handling equipment has changed organizations multiple times over the years.

Many (though not all) of the spare part components in this product area have an 8-digit Navy part number that begins with "3022" or "3766". Ordnance Technology Service welcomes the opportunity to evaluate your shipboard torpedo handling equipment needs.

With the recent downsizing of personnel by Original Equipment Manufacturers, OTS maintains a cadre of on-call consultants to assist O.E.M. personnel with fluctuations in workload demands.
